The new Minnesota state flag was adopted on May 11, 2024, and it features a light blue field with a dark blue obtuse angular figure on the hoist bearing a white eight-pointed star. The design was chosen after a lengthy process involving over 2,600 submissions and was finalized by the Minnesota State Emblems Redesign Commission.

The star, which faces upwards, symbolizes the North Star, reflecting the state’s motto “L’Étoile du Nord”.

The flag’s design was intended to simplify and modernize the previous flag. The new design aims to accurately and respectfully reflect Minnesota’s shared history and natural resources.

Extra care is taken in making these flags. Designs are researched to make sure that they are authentic and we use sturdy fabrics so that they can be flown outdoors.
